Landspouts!

According to the National Severe Storms Laboratory, landspouts are 'A tornado with a narrow, rope-like condensation funnel that forms while the thunderstorm cloud is still growing and there is no rotating updraft- the spinning motion originates  near the ground.'

In spite of its punyness, eerie.

I knew it was raining there, but didn't know about tiny scary tornadoes! Where were these taken?

These were between Tokio and Ritzville. And they are apparently pretty common.
